Product Description

Perfect for spa repairs - bonds to acrylic, PVC, fibreglass and many more substrates.
Repair cracks and blisters in acrylic spa surfaces.
Repair cracked PCV plumbing fittings and valves.

AB200 delivers high strength and dependable performance when bonding plastics, metals and composites with minimal surface preparation. It provides a high strength bond with a short working time of 4-6 minutes, making it ideal for structural and general assembly applications. The thicker viscosity allows for easy, controlled application across a wide range of materials.

AB200 is a high-performance, two-part methyl methacrylate (MMA) structural adhesive engineered for demanding bonding applications. Designed for fast, reliable bonding of engineering plastics, metals, and composite materials, AB200 offers exceptional strength, durability, and ease of use.

With a short working time of 4 to 6 minutes, this adhesive is perfect for production lines that need a fast cure. It allows for efficient assembly without the need for extensive surface preparation or primers. It is particularly suited for bonding thermoplastics, powder-coated metals, raw metals, and composite assemblies where high strength and impact resistance are critical.

AB200 delivers rapid strength development at room temperature, along with excellent toughness, fatigue resistance, and long-term durability. Its non-sag, thixotropic formula makes it ideal for precise application, even on vertical surfaces. It also provides some gap filling capabilities of up to around 4mm. This adhesive is the go-to solution for industrial manufacturing, plastic fabrication, transportation, signage, and general assembly where consistent performance and structural integrity are required.

Applications and Uses

AB200 bonds to a variety of substrates they include but aren’t limited to:

-        Plastics: Acrylic (PMMA), Polycarbonate (PC), Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS), Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC)

-        Metals: Aluminium, Steel, Stainless Steel, Powder Coated Surfaces

-        Composites: Fibreglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP), Carbon Fibre (CF)

-        Other: Glass, Concrete, Wood, MDF

AB200 will not adhere to plastics with a low surface energy such as Polypropylene (PP), Polyethylene (PE) or Polyolefins.

When fully cured AB200 can be sanded, grinded, routed and polished to get your desired finish. You can paint over it

-        Great Chemical Resistance

-        High resistance to weathering

-        Can be used in indoor and outdoor applications

-        Waterproofing when applied correctly

-        High Temperature resistance -40 to 140°C

Tools and Accessories

AB200 requires the use of a compatible dual cartridge dispensing applicator and static mixer nozzles, sold separately.
50mL Cartridges use standard 1:1 Ratio dual cartridge dispensing applicators and static mixers.
It is important to use the correct applicator and mixer for each cartridge size, as 1:1 ratio systems are not compatible with other ratios cartridges and accessories.

Strength Tests

** SF, AF, CF – determine how the substrate failed.

-        SF – Substrate Failure

-        AF – Adhesion Failure

-        CF – Cohesive Failure

Instructions for use

1.     Use a static mixer nozzle to accurately mix the contents of the 1:1 cartridge. Each cartridge includes one Static Mixer Nozzle Green 1:1, you can purchase more as required.

2.     You will also require a 1:1 Static Mixing Dispenser to push the contents through the static mixer. This is the best way to apply it and get accurate, dependable results every time.

3.     Parts to be joined should fit without forcing and be clean.
It is important to let out any air bubbles and ensure adhesive is fully mixed by dispensing the first part of the cartridge onto some paper. This is to make sure the two separate parts are fully mixed and is generally the first 2-3mL. Apply adhesive directly from the static mixer.

4.     Press parts together in firm contact and use a clamp to secure while the glue reacts. AB200 will achieve a working strength within 14-17 min and full cure strength within 24 hours. You have approximately 4-6 minutes to work with the glue before it starts to set off.

5.    For spa acrylic sheet repairs, carefully grind out the crack full depth to the reinforcing fibreglass using a Dremel or rotary grinder for a slightly tapered edge. Fill the crack in stages if necessary. Sand smooth. Apply a suitable paint and clear coat if desired.

6.    For PVC fittings which have cracked such as a diverter valve, carefully grind out a sufficient width channel for the AB200 to fill and cover the crack, but don't grind full depth. Sand surrounding area, fill the crack and cover an extended area for greater support. This should be considered a temporary solution.

Please check the TDS for material suitability and strength of each bond.
