This unit is NOT IP rated* - do not get wet 

Insulation Resitance Tester generate high voltages (250, 500, 1000v) to pump through electrical components in order to detect internal breakdown/short to earth. This test is not possible and often not detectable with standard multi-meters and clamp meters. 
However this unit also incorporates standard multimeter functions in addition to insulation resistance testing.

Using this meter may reduce the overall number of various test instruments you carry. 
Most are not rated for protection against water like this unit.

Tests the following important spa related functions:
Insulation Resistance of the complete spa or components such as pump, heater, blower. 
Test ranges of 250v (not used), 500v (standard setting) and 1000v (for 415v applications) 
Voltage
Resistance of heater elements 
Resistance of electronic temperature sensors 
Continuity 
Resistance of pressure & flow switches 
Voltage 
Capacitance 
Frequency 
Variable frequency drives 
Temperature**

The only missing desirable test parameters are current draw, non contact voltage detection, and LoZ Voltage (to eliminate false ghost voltages seen on some pcbs) Add a Clamp Meter with these functions to cover every test parameter you'll ever need.

The advantage is IP67 waterproof multimeters, IP67 waterproof NCV volt sticks, clamp meters and probe or IR temperature testers.



NB - test probes must be positioned in different ports depending on the test being performed. 
The 'Common' port is always used with one probe. 
Most tests utilise the red test probe with 3 pin connection except the following:
Temperature 
Current 
Low Ohm resistance 
Ensure you follow the included instructions to avoid damage to the meter due to incorrect connection.
